The Lifelong Learning Program
Purpose
The Lifelong Learning Program offers people of retirement and semi-retirement age an opportunity to expand knowledge and explore new ideas in an informal, noncompetitive environment.
Learning occurs in a pleasant social atmosphere in classes with one’s peers. There are no exams and no grades or credits. There is no previous educational requirement. Rather, the opportunity exists to interact with friends old and new. This is a time when you may fulfill many of your dreams.
Schedule
Fall term begins in September with two five-week sessions ending in November. Spring term begins in February ending in April. The classes meet for one and a half hours in the daytime once a week for five weeks.
Courses
Prove to yourself and the younger community that intellectual curiosity endures and that learning and study provide unending sources of pleasure for those fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of them. You cannot do everything each session, but you can begin to do some of the things which excite and energize you. Select one or more of the courses offered, and engage in that ongoing work of learning.
Registration and Fees
You may register for classes by returning this registration form or by calling the Lifelong Learning Office at 966-5733 or toll-free at 800-333-4358, ext. 5733 for a registration form. (The downloadable form requires the free Acrobat Reader.)
The cost is $50 per person for each class. SPECIAL PRICE: Individuals may take two classes during the same session for $75. For two people living at the same address enrolled for classes in the same five-week session, the cost is $75 for the two. Some classes may require the purchase of a textbook. All suggested and required textbooks may be purchased in the university bookstore or at registration.
